I purchased the Camo Deck Fastening System from Amazon for a deck build project I have been working on. Before I heard about this tool, I was planning on just nailing or screwing in the deck boards from the top.
Well... I'm glad I found it.
After using this thing, all of my screws are hidden and I feel completely comfortable walking on it barefoot and it looks so much better.
Let's get to the Camo Decking tool.
The packaging doesn't have much in it. One piece of paper with instructions (because it's that EASY to use) and the Camo Deck Fastening tool itself. That's it.
In addition to the tool, you'll need the Camo Deck Fastening Screws to go with it. DO NOT purchase the screws that Amazon recommends for you to purchase because they are not correct, and I had opened up that incorrect box to use the screws on some of the framing and now i'm stuck with hundreds of screws that don't work with the gun.
Buy the Camo branded screws (I'm not sponsored by Camo, I'm just frustrated that I wasted money when I didn't just buy Camo).
To use the tool, you literally just line up the two holes with the joist under the deck board, squeeze the handle to expand the grabbing arms, grab the deck board, pop the screws into the holes, and screw them in.
Move on to each joist and keep putting in more and more screws! If you have a second person with you and a second drill, then you can go twice as fast.
All in all, I would easily give the Camo Decking tool a 5 out of 5. I knocked this deck out extremely quick and it looks so much better with the concealed screws.
